Unity and Inclusion

While the role of the Speaker of the House is fairly independent, having a student government that is unified to reach a common good is the only way to effectively create change. In the past, maintaining communication between the House and Senate has been challenging. Critical errors have been made as a result of misinformation, harming the integrity of the House. One of my primary goals if elected Speaker would be to ensure that the House works closely with members of the Executive Branch and Senate to execute their goals, and follows up with how bills and resolutions are implemented after they are passed.

Lastly, inclusion of all student voices regardless of ideology, race, gender identification, ability, ethnicity, or background is incredibly important to me. As students we all come from various backgrounds with a similar goal in mind -- to obtain a college degree. ASOSU can only advocate for student issues if students’ voices are included in the process.  If elected as Speaker of the House, I would do everything in my power to fulfill the core values of ASOSU by working in the interests of all students. With greater diversity of thought and opinions, we can create policy changes that help not only current, but also future students for years to come.
